More About Susan
Hi, I’m Susan. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor here in Virginia. I believe everyone deserves close and caring relationships. That’s why I work with individuals and couples who want to feel more connected. Many of the people I meet are coping with grief or parenting struggles, and I’m here to support them.
I have many years of experience as a counselor. I use simple, proven methods that fit each person’s needs. With these tools, you can heal old hurts. You can feel more calm in daily life. You can also build closer connections with the people who matter most. Some tools help you understand yourself better. Others ease the pain of hard memories. And some focus on helping couples feel close again.
My goal is to be present with you and walk alongside you in the healing process. Many of my clients leave therapy with a deeper sense of their needs and feelings. This makes it easier for them to connect with others in a safe and caring way.
If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to meet you. Schedule a consult with me today and let’s get started.

I love walking my dog, Gus and spending time with my family, including keeping up with my grandchildren.

More About Christy
Hi, I’m Christy, a military spouse of more than 15 years and a mother of three. I work with individuals, couples, and families who feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to move forward. Many of the people I support are facing high stress or major life transitions that make it hard to stay emotionally connected. Over time, this can lead to tension in relationships, difficulty communicating, or a feeling of doing your best but still not feeling understood or close to the people you care about.
In our work together, I focus on creating a safe, supportive space where everyone feels heard and respected. We slow things down to understand emotional patterns and what may be getting in the way of connection. Using Emotionally Focused Therapy along with CBT, ACT, and family-based approaches, I tailor therapy to your unique needs and goals. I work to honors clients’ faith and values while creating an affirming, welcoming space for LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families. My goal is to help individuals and families strengthen connection, build resilience, and move toward lives that feel more balanced, meaningful, and fulfilling.
Outside of therapy office:
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my children, supporting them in their activities, and being outdoors. I also enjoy horseback riding and rock climbing and I have been a therapeutic horseback riding instructor for over ten years.
