More About Carolyn

Hi, I’m Carolyn. Maybe you and your partner keep having the same argument, even though you both want things to get better. Maybe your family has trouble talking without someone feeling hurt, angry, or misunderstood. Or maybe anxiety, depression, or past experiences are making it harder to feel like yourself or connect with the people you love.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

I help individuals, couples, and families understand what’s happening underneath the conflict and find new ways to connect. Instead of focusing only on what you’re saying to each other, we’ll look at the emotions and patterns that can keep you feeling stuck, unheard, or disconnected.

Starting therapy can feel uncomfortable, especially if you grew up in a family or community where people didn’t talk openly about mental health or seeking help. You don’t need to know exactly what to say or how therapy is supposed to work. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming space where you can show up as yourself and feel heard without judgment.

I primarily use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an approach that helps people understand their relationship patterns and build stronger emotional connections. I also draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help you handle difficult thoughts and feelings while making choices based on what matters most to you.

Although I am currently completing my training as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I bring five years of experience in case management and inpatient care. That experience taught me the importance of listening to each person’s story, meeting people where they are, and making sure they feel supported throughout the process.

Through therapy, it’s possible to understand yourself and each other in new ways so you can communicate more openly, feel more connected, and move forward together.

Outside of the Therapy Office:

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, kids, family, and friends. I love traveling, exploring new places, shopping, and staying active. I also recharge through journaling, walking, yoga, and Pilates.

One of my favorite quotes is “To thine own self be true.” To me, it’s a reminder that growth starts with learning to understand and be true to who you are.
